Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has been meeting French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the countries’ partnership and support for Ukraine.

During a news conference, Carney described Canada as the “most European of non-European countries”, and said he hoped Europe would work “enthusiastically” with Canada.

Macron described both nations as “peace powers” as he vowed to protect Ukraine from new Russian aggression.
